About The Role
Extraordinary is the O-1/EB-1 visa platform for exceptional founders, funds, and startups.
Applications are now closed for this full-stack engineering search. The role was for a Founding Product Engineer to own features from zero to production, drive architecture decisions, and help scale our engineering team in a high-ownership environment.
This is a fully remote, full-time role and we offer competitive compensation based on background/experience.
What You'll Do
- Own features end to end: scope the problem, design the flow, build the frontend and backend, model the data, and ship to production with security and battle testing.
- Work directly with founders on product direction, technical tradeoffs, and engineering priorities.
- Proactively find and fix issues across the stack: bugs, UX gaps, security, performance problems, reliability issues, and technical debt.
- Make pragmatic architecture decisions that help us move fast without creating unnecessary complexity.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and Python across frontend and backend.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-changing startup environments.
- Strong product intuition. You care about what users experience, not just what the code does.
- Critical thinking and deep technical understanding. You own your code, you don't just rely on AI to write it.
- Proven ability to design and build complex, scalable systems.
Bonus Points
- Experience building B2B enterprise applications.
- Previous early-stage startup experience.
- Experience with Go, Rust, and AI engineering, such as building agent harnesses.
- Strong command of production debugging, observability, and system reliability.
