As a Senior Immigration Attorney at Extraordinary.com, you'll lead complex O-1, EB-1, EB-2 NIW, E-2, TN, H-1B, L-1, and PERM case strategy for startup founders and extraordinary companies, ensuring every petition reflects the highest standard of legal craft. You'll mentor junior attorneys and paralegals, partner closely with our sales and operations teams to scope engagements, provide legal-focused feedback to our engineers, and serve as the final quality checkpoint before filing. Your judgment and case strategy will directly shape outcomes for the world's top talent building in America.
This is a fully remote, full-time role and we offer competitive compensation based on background/experience.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end case strategy and legal review for petitions, from initial assessment through filing and RFE response
- Serve as the senior legal reviewer for complex or high-risk cases, ensuring petitions meet the highest evidentiary and drafting standards
- Draft and refine persuasive legal briefs, support letters, and expert opinion letters tailored to each client's achievements
- Mentor and provide legal guidance to paralegals, and case managers on strategy, drafting, and evidence-gathering; Uphold rigorous quality control and process discipline across the legal team's caseload
- Stay current on USCIS policy changes, adjudication trends, and translate updates into internal best practices
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs) with well-researched, strategically sound legal arguments
- Act as a customer-facing point of contact for a diverse, global client base, translating complex immigration strategy into clear, confident guidance
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of immigration law experience, with deep specialization in O-1, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW petitions; experience with E-2, TN, L-1, H-1B, and PERM is a plus.
- Experience working with startups, tech companies, entrepreneurs, and venture capital/PE funds
- J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state, in good standing, and ability to secure malpractice insurance
- Demonstrated track record of successful high-caliber petition outcomes for founders, executives, or extraordinary-ability clients
- Exceptional legal writing and case-strategy skills, with an eye for persuasive, evidence-driven storytelling
- Low-ego, team player with demonstrated leadership qualities
- Ownership-driven and energized by helping shape processes rather than stepping into static frameworks
- Experience mentoring or managing junior attorneys or legal staff
- Technology proficient and excellent communication skills, both with clients and internal cross-functional teams
